To be
successful with water fasting it is crucial to follow an appropriate
drinking schedule. The quantity of the water depends on many factors but the
key factor is your fasting experience.
For those
who have just started familiarizing fasting technique on their own I can
give some following recommendations:
1.
During 24-36 hours fasting daily water drinking norm should be not
less than 1.5-2 liters per day. This is because of the fact that during the
first days of fasting large amounts of intoxicants get into blood. Drinking
sufficient amount of water reduces intoxication and makes fasting process
easier. Besides, the 24-36 hours fasting is often used for body cleansing,
and in this case drinking large amount of water promotes cleansing process.
2.
For 3-4 days fasting the water amount is not increased, it is 1.5-2
liters per day as well. During this period the body has not enough time for
turning to internal nutrition, and sufficient amount of water helps to stand
the fasting easier.
3.
During fasting until crisis /7-10 days/ beginners should continue
with drinking 1-2 liters of water daily. This amount of water helps reducing
body burden caused by significant amount of intoxicants getting into the
blood which are a result of fat breakdown.
After you
fast on your own for 7-10 days several times you can make some changes in
your drinking schedule.
If you plan
fasting for 7 or more days, then the first 2 days you can drink less water
or fast without water at all. The first 2-3 days of the fasting an intensive
fat splitting occurs, at this sufficient amount of water is separated, and
you are not parched with thirst. Moreover, a dry fast during first days
promotes quicker turning to internal nutrition and earlier beginning of
acidotic crisis.
Later on an
approximate amount of water you drink could be about 1-1.5 liters but better
if you are guided by your body`s needs and drink as much as you want. Such
experienced fasting people sometimes after acidotic crisis continue with dry
fast even in the middle of the long-lasting fast.
In addition
to your health you can evaluate the required water amount by your urine. If
it is limpid or colored slightly, you body has enough water. If your urine
is concentrated and has dark color, and urination periodicity is reduced
then you have to drink more water.
So, we can
sum up the key rules of drinking water during fasting:
-
for
beginners it is recommended to drink sufficient amount of water at the
fasting start, not less than 1.5-2 liters per day not depending on the
fasting duration;
-
for
experienced in fasting people the water amount can be reduced to 1-1.5
liters per day, and first 2-3 days of fasting may be without water at all.
-
in
addition, the required water amount can be evaluated according to your
thirst or by observing the urine color and urination periodicity.
It is
necessary to mention that the body can imbibe water while an enema use, so
if you use the enema daily the amount of water may be less.
Remember,
water over-drinking during fasting overburdens the body, takes your strength
and energy required for your healing. And decreased water amount during
fasting may negatively effect on the fasting process and even result to
dysfunction of some organs and systems. |
