How
to avoid a overeating after fasting?
Increased
appetite during post-fasting period is a common occurrence. Many people face
this problem as soon as they start practicing fasting. And this is not
surprising as the body uses its pool very economically during fasting, and
at the time following the fasting the body endeavors to fill everything that
it has lost during hunger as quickly as possible. Also, add to this overall
rising of metabolic processes, and you'll get gargantuan canine appetite
after fasting.
The modern man is notable for
overconsumption, sometimes unregulated eating, and many a man absolutely
loses control after fasting. All these lead to the fact that having weight
reduced by some kilograms during fasting, you restore former weight very
quickly, are unable to stop, and add some more extra kilograms. Especially
it is vexing in the case of fasting for weight reduction purpose.
So, it is necessary to follow the
precautionary measures described below:
Firstly, it is
important to start fasting little by little. For this purpose the one-day
fasting is the best approach. It will help you on learning to regulate your
appetite and avoiding overeating during the post-fasting period.
After weekly practice of one-day
fasting for 2-3 months it is time to go on with longer fasting period of 2-3
days. And only after you understand that you do not have problems with
post-fasting period, you can proceed to much longer fasting. Using this
approach you train your body to hunger gradually, and then it will be much
easier for you to avoid the overeating after long period of fasting.
I repeatedly followed-up people
trying to fast for more than 7-10 days without preliminary training. Having
this rather long fasting period born bravely, they fell down after fasting,
being unable to face out the canine appetite. Even if this did not result in
dangerous to health consequences, then brought to naught that all beneficial
achieved during fasting time.
The second important rule is correct
tuning to fasting. Make an effort to be prepared for fasting, and plan this
period clearly. It is necessary to understand what you start fasting for. If
this reason is important it will be much easier for you to avoid overeating.
But if your purpose is unclear and cloudy, it is better not to start
fasting.
The third very important rule
- it is important to finish fasting appropriately, but the
rehabilitation period lasting for 1-3 months (depending on your fasting
period) is very important as well. Just during this period significant
appetite increase occurred. If you do not want this to happen, draw your own
menu up for the post-fasting period, and work out a diet which you will keep
during rehabilitation period. The appropriate well-balanced diet will make
it easier for you to cope with the increased appetite.
And some more simple but useful
recommendations:
Chew meal thoroughly after fasting
and during the rehabilitation period. Follow the Indian Yogi's
recommendations: during chewing process the solid meal should be liquefied,
and liquid food should be converted into solid. Such a long being of meal in
the mouth promotes faster satiation.
If after the fasting you have the
blind munchies anyway, try to eat more vegetables and fruits. They fill
stomach quickly, contain fewer calories, and are digested quickly.
And also remember that overeating is
a temporary occurrence. With obtaining experience you will learn to regulate
your appetite, and think back with a smile about those first fasting times
when you could not do it yet. |
